Earlier this month, Kickstarter launched the "Make 100" initiative, inspiring creators to "dream small" with projects focused on limited editions of 100. So... Baby Tattoo (hot on the heels of the Beyond Science Fiction campaign) teamed up with artist Brian Kesinger to offer a good, old-fashioned matching card game featuring his popular Octo-Victorian character Otto.
The short campaign ends in just under 48 hours, so please check it out if you're interested in a gift for that special Octopus Lover in your life (rewards will ship in time for Valentine's Day).
The project funded quickly, so we're about to add a stretch goal if we make it to $10,000 by the time the campaign ends at noon Pacific Time on Friday. The stretch goal will add a pair of Jokers to the game, as well as a chance at getting a collector's card size original drawing of Otto (Brian will randomly hide a small original sketch in 1 out of every 10 game sets made if we reach the $10,000 goal).

The final countdown has begun. Kickstarter's "Days To Go" indicator has ticked over to an "Hours To Go" clock... and, as of this update, there are only about 24 hours remaining. But, as we've been seeing on a daily basis, a lot can happen in a short amount of time!
There's even a chance we'll hit the astronomical $125,000 stretch goal that we added in response to blasting past the $100,000 stratosphere. What is the next stretch goal? Let's be honest... we don't know! This is uncharted territory. We've gone far beyond all of our own expectations because of your enthusiasm and support. If we hit the final stretch goal frontier, we will strive to deliver reward upgrades worthy of such far-out funding.
If you have friends you think might like to come on board, there is one incredible perk that is going to flame out forever when this campaign ends. Every backer at every physical reward level will be asked if they would like a name printed in the book in testament to their empowering this endeavor. Backers of this project have gone beyond being fans... they have become allies worthy of acclaim when the history of this exhibition is written.

In the beginning, we were hoping to raise ten thousand dollars to produce a great little art book. Now, through the support of a community of nearly one thousand backers, that goal has been achieved ten times over!
And that great little art book is going to be spectacular as a result.
When we hit $75,000, we decided to commit to ultra high resolution printing for the book. This high-end process will result in more image detail and a wider range of colors than traditional printing would allow... so Michael's work will be reproduced in stunning fashion. And now, having passed the $100,000 mark, we're planning on a cover-to-cover upgrade for the whole project. Details are still being worked out, but you can expect a textured exterior, an enhanced interior, thicker paper, and some impressive guest essays about Michael's work.
And this journey isn't over yet... there are still a few days to remaining to encourage new fans and friends to join us in this endeavor. One of the primary goals of this project was to create a conduit between the paintings of Michael Whelan and art lovers who may not be familiar with his work. And you can help spread the message by sharing this campaign. In support of that cause...
